The Corporation is at the exploration stage and its operations include the acquisition, exploration, and, where possible, development and operation of mining properties for gold and silver. The Corporation is currently engaged in exploration activities in Morocco.
Maya incorporated pursuant to the Canada Business Corporations Act (the "CBCA") on December 19, 2007. The head office of the Corporation is located at 10, boul. de la Seigneurie est, Blainville, Québec J7C 3V5.
In 2009, Maya has signed an option agreement with Société d’Exploration Géologique des Métaux (“SEGM”), a private Moroccan company, to earn a 60% an interest of 70% in the Amizmiz Au-Ag project. The 80-square kilometre Amizmiz Gold and Silver Project is located approximately 60 km from Marrakech and is accessible by paved road. Maya Gold & Silver has just acquired 100% of the Amizmiz project from SEGM.
Michel Jébrak, Ph.D., professor of Earth Sciences at Université du Quebec in Montreal and also specialized in Moroccan geology, visited the property in July 2008 and back on the property in July 2010 and reported: "the gold mineralization is both hosted in a pyrite-pyrrhotine silicified black shales and in limestone of middle Cambrian age. This large distribution of gold recalls world-size gold districts such as the Carlin-type deposits of Nevada and several Intrusion-related Gold Deposits/Black shale-hosted Gold Deposits including Muruntau (Uzbekistan), Morro do Ouro (Brazil) and Maiskoye (Russia). "
Maya is planning developing additional adits for metallurgical testing on AZ5 and TRNA structures since economical-range values were returned from short drill holes testing these veins.
Corporation objective and strategy
Build economical tonnage from high grade Au veins in AZ & TR Zones;
Process bulk-samples in short term;
Examine possibility to generate short term cash flow in view of funding the exploration and development activities;
Assure stability for the Company
Pursue exploration efforts on other anomalies
Continue exporation program on the Tiqlit anomaly which represents an excellent low grade-bulk tonnage target;
Identify and acquire near-term producing properties.
